Products Description
Ethephon 40% AS is a plant growth regulator that promotes maturation, primarily used to enhance yield and accelerate ripening in various cash crops. It remains highly stable in acidic media but decomposes to release ethylene at pH levels above 4. Since the pH of plant cell sap is generally above 4, ethephon enters plants through leaves, bark, fruits, or seeds, then translocates to target sites where it releases ethylene. This ethylene performs physiological functions identical to endogenous ethylene, such as promoting fruit ripening, abscission of leaves and fruits, dwarfing plants, altering the ratio of female to male flowers, and inducing male sterility in certain crops.

Ethephon decomposes rapidly upon contact with alkaline substances. Do not mix it with alkaline pesticides (e.g., Bordeaux mixture) or dilute it with strongly alkaline water.
For cotton ripening, apply the chemical 15-20 days before the first frost period, preferably when the air temperature is between 16°C and 32°C.
