Introduction
Transfluthrin is a type of pyrethroid-based sanitary insecticide. Transfluthrin can effectively control both household pests and storage pests. It has a rapid knockdown effect on diptera insects such as mosquitoes, and also has excellent residual effects on cockroaches and bedbugs. It can be used in various formulations such as mosquito coils, aerosol insecticides, and electric heating sheet mosquito coils.
Usage
Used for manufacturing mosquito coils, aerosol and electric heating sheet mosquito coils.
Symptoms of human poisoning
It is a nerve agent. The skin at the contact site feels a stinging sensation, especially around the mouth and nose but without any redness. It rarely causes systemic poisoning. When the amount of contact is large, it can cause headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, tremors in both hands, convulsions or seizures throughout the body, coma, and shock.
Matters need attention
Pyrethroids kill mosquitoes by disrupting their nervous systems. If humans are exposed to the liquid from electric mosquito repellents for a long time, especially when using them in enclosed spaces, it can cause certain health problems. Symptoms may include dizziness, headache, and vomiting. People with allergic constitutions may experience nasal congestion, runny nose, and asthma. Additionally, the liquid releases toxic gases such as benzene and formaldehyde, which can lead to respiratory problems. Due to its low placement position and the lack of parents' safety awareness, electric mosquito repellent liquid has become one of the insecticides that are prone to be ingested by children.
When using electric mosquito repellent liquid, it should first be placed out of reach of children, and ensure good indoor ventilation. Avoid using it for long periods continuously. If there are pregnant women or infants in the household, it is recommended to consider using physical mosquito repellent methods such as mosquito nets and electric mosquito swatters. Additionally, the packaging of mosquito repellent liquid is often in a special shape, the liquid is colorless and has a pleasant smell, which may be attractive to young children. Therefore, it is necessary to clearly warn on the prominent position of the packaging that "oral consumption is toxic".
