Usage
1.Cereals (rice, wheat, etc.): During the tillering stage to the early jointing stage, it is recommended to use 30-100 ml of 25%SC per mu. Dilute it with water at a ratio of 1:500-800 and spray it on the foliage. When spraying, ensure that the liquid evenly covers the leaves and stems of the plants, with emphasis on spraying the tillering parts. This can effectively control the excessive growth of plants, shorten the internode distance, thicken the stems, enhance lodging resistance, and at the same time promote the formation of effective tillers, increase the number of ears, thereby improving yield. In cases where the soil fertility is high and the crops grow excessively vigorously, the dosage can be appropriately increased, but it should be noted that it must not exceed the recommended upper limit.
2.Fruit trees (citrus, apple, etc.): Spray on the foliage when the new shoots are 5-10 cm long during the growth period, usually diluted at a ratio of 1:1000-2000. Different varieties of fruit trees have different sensitivities to the agent. For example, citrus can be appropriately increased in concentration, while apples need to be slightly reduced. The specific dilution ratio should be adjusted according to the variety characteristics and growth status. When spraying, focus on the leaves of new shoots and also cover the branches.
This can effectively control the excessive growth of branches, reduce nutrient consumption, promote flower bud differentiation, make the next year's flowering more and more neat, and thus improve the fruit setting rate. At the same time, it can also promote the transportation of nutrients to the fruits, improving the color, sweetness and other qualities of the fruits.
3.Ornamental plants and flowers (chrysanthemums, begonias, etc.): Spray during the vigorous vegetative growth period, that is, when the plant height reaches about half of the expected height, with a dilution ratio of 1:1500-2500. Spray evenly on the leaves and tender shoots of the plants, which can inhibit apical dominance, slow down the growth rate of plant height, make the plant shape more compact, increase branches, make the overall shape of the plant more beautiful, and enhance the ornamental value. For potted flowers, care should be taken to avoid excessive dripping of the liquid into the potting soil to prevent excessive inhibition of root growth.
4.Turfgrass: Spray appropriately during the peak growth period of turfgrass, i.e., spring and autumn, when the grass height reaches 8-10 cm. Use 20-40 ml of 25%SC per mu, dilute it with water and spray evenly. It can slow down the growth rate of turfgrass, extend the mowing cycle, reduce the number of mowings, and at the same time thicken the leaves of turfgrass, make the texture more compact, and keep the turf neat and beautiful.
Apply
As an efficient plant growth regulator, Paclobutrazol 25% SC has extensive and important applications in a variety of crops. It can regulate the growth trend of plants to achieve the goals of improving quality, increasing yield or optimizing ornamental effects.
In fruit tree crops, its application is very common. For citrus trees, Paclobutrazol 25% SC can effectively inhibit the excessive growth of new shoots, avoiding excessive consumption of nutrients in the growth of branches and leaves, thereby promoting flower bud differentiation. This enables citrus trees to form more high-quality flower buds during the flowering period, reducing the phenomenon of flower and fruit drop in the subsequent period. At the same time, it can also improve the coloring and sweetness of the fruits, enhancing the quality and commercial value of citrus. Apple and peach trees can also benefit from it. When applied from the initial stage of new shoot germination to the vigorous growth period, it can control the growth rate of new shoots, allowing the nutrients of the tree to be more concentrated on fruit development, increasing the yield and taste of the fruits.
Cereal crops such as rice and wheat are also common application targets of Paclobutrazol 25% SC. Applying this agent to rice from the late tillering stage to the early jointing stage can inhibit the elongation of the basal internodes, making the stems of rice plants thicker, enhancing the lodging resistance. At the same time, it can also increase the number of effective tillers and the 1000-grain weight, thereby increasing rice yield. Using it on wheat in the early jointing stage can prevent the plants from growing too tall and lodging, ensuring that wheat can grow stably in the later growth stage and laying the foundation for high yield.
In terms of economic crops, peanuts, soybeans, cotton, etc., can all use Paclobutrazol 25% SC to improve their growth conditions. For peanuts, when applied 25-30 days after the initial flowering period and when the plant height reaches 30-40 cm, it can effectively control the excessive growth of the main stem, promote plant dwarfing, allow more nutrients to flow to the underground pods, improve the pod-setting rate, and increase peanut yield. After application on soybeans, it can dwarf the plant type, promote root development, enhance the stress resistance of the plants, and reduce yield reduction caused by lodging or adverse environments. Using this agent on cotton can regulate growth, make cotton plants grow more stably, improve the fruit-setting rate, and increase cotton yield.
In addition, ornamental plants such as flowers and lawns can also benefit from the application of Paclobutrazol 25% SC. For flowers, it can control the plant height, make the plant type more compact and beautiful, increase the number of flowers and the quality of flowers, and enhance the ornamental value of flowers. In lawn maintenance, applying this agent can inhibit the excessive growth of lawn grass, reduce the number of mowings, and at the same time make the lawn more neat and dense, maintaining a good ornamental state.
Matters need attention
1.Strictly follow the recommended dosage. Excessive use will cause excessive dwarfing of plants, smaller and thicker leaves, growth stagnation, and even affect flowering and fruiting. If accidentally used in excess, gibberellin-based agents can be sprayed to alleviate phytotoxicity.
2.For sensitive crops (such as cucumbers, watermelons and other melons, as well as some leguminous crops), a small-scale test must be conducted before use. Observe for 3-5 days, and only apply on a large scale after confirming that there is no abnormal growth inhibition.
3.Choose to spray before 9 am or after 5 pm on sunny days. At this time, the temperature is appropriate and the wind is weak, which can reduce the evaporation and drift of the liquid. Avoid high temperatures (above 30°C), strong winds (above force 3) and rainy days. High temperatures will accelerate the evaporation of the liquid, reduce the efficacy and easily cause phytotoxicity; strong winds will cause the liquid to drift and affect neighboring crops; rainy days will wash away the liquid and reduce the utilization rate.
4.When applying the pesticide, wear protective gear such as gloves, masks, long-sleeved tops and long pants to avoid direct contact of the pesticide with the skin or inhalation into the respiratory tract. Do not eat, drink or smoke during the application process. After application, promptly wash exposed parts such as hands and face with soapy water, and clean the application tools to prevent pesticide residues.
5.Since this pesticide has a long residual period in the soil (up to several months to several years), if sensitive crops (such as vegetables, flower seedlings, etc.) are planted in the subsequent crop, they may be affected by the residual pesticide, resulting in slow growth. Therefore, it is necessary to reasonably arrange crop rotation according to the sensitivity of different crops and plant them after an interval of a certain period.
6.The pesticide should be sealed and stored in a cool, dry and ventilated place, away from children, food, feed and fire sources, and avoid direct sunlight. Before use, the pesticide must be fully shaken to ensure that the suspension is uniform, so as to ensure the stable performance of the efficacy.
