Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. israelensis 600ITU/mg SC | ||
| Active Ingredient Content (Toxicity Unit) | 1200 International Toxicity Units per milligram (ITU/mg) | 1600 International Toxicity Units per milligram (ITU/mg) | 600 International Toxicity Units per milligram (ITU/mg) | ||
| Formulation | WP (Wettable Powder) | WP (Wettable Powder) | SC (Suspension Concentrate) | ||
| Core Characteristics | 1. Moderate toxicity, suitable for conventional pest infestation scenarios; 2. Wettable powder is easy to disperse, requiring dilution with water and thorough stirring before use, and is sensitive to water hardness; 3. Moisture-proof storage is necessary to avoid caking that affects efficacy |
1. High toxicity, suitable for severe pest infestations or target pests with low resistance; 2. Also a wettable powder, requiring good dispersibility, and less dosage is needed for the same control area; 3. High proportion of active ingredients per unit weight, resulting in relatively low transportation costs |
1. Low toxicity, suitable for mild pest infestations or preventive application; 2. Suspension concentrate has good stability, forming a uniform suspension after dilution with water, with strong adhesion and resistance to rain wash; 3. No need to worry about caking, offering better usability than wettable powder |
||
| Applicable Scenarios |
|
- Control of high-density mosquito larvae in large-area farmland, orchards, or public environments; - Emergency scenarios requiring rapid control of pest spread |
- Preventive pest management in refined planting scenarios such as nurseries and greenhouses; - Mosquito control in rain-prone areas (strong wash resistance); - Sensitive environments with low toxicity requirements (e.g., shallow water areas near water sources) |
||
| Application Precautions | 1. Use clean soft water for dilution to avoid reduced efficacy caused by hard water; 2. Use the prepared pesticide immediately after mixing, and avoid long-term storage to prevent stratification; 3. Store in a dry and cool place, and use up as soon as possible after opening |
1. Due to high toxicity, strictly follow the recommended dosage to avoid excessive application causing environmental pressure; 2. Other precautions are the same as the common ones for "1200ITU/mg WP" wettable powder |
1. Suspension concentrate may have slight sediment; shake well thoroughly before use; 2. Avoid mixing with strongly alkaline pesticides to prevent inactivation of active ingredients; 3. Although it is wash-resistant, re-application is still required if heavy rain occurs within 2 hours after application |
||
| Dosage per Unit Area (Reference) | Taking wriggler control as an example, the conventional dosage is approximately 10-15g/100m² (adjustable according to actual pest density) | Under the same scenario, the dosage is approximately 8-12g/100m², which is 15%-20% less than the 1200ITU/mg specification | Under the same scenario, the dosage is approximately 20-25g/100m², which is 50%-100% more than the 1200ITU/mg specification |
Usage
The core application logic for all three formulations is to dilute them with water first, then apply the liquid to water bodies or moist environments where target pests (mosquito and fly larvae) inhabit. Specific operations vary slightly based on toxicity and formulation, with details as follows:
1.1200ITU/mg WP (Wettable Powder)
Calculate the dosage based on pest control needs (typically 5-10 grams of active ingredient per hectare of water body, or refer to product instructions). Slowly add the powder to an appropriate amount of clean water, stirring continuously until it is completely dissolved with no visible particles, forming a uniform liquid. Then, use a sprayer to evenly spray the liquid onto small and medium-sized water bodies (such as household water-collecting basins, shallow stagnant water in green belts) or directly splash it on the water surface, ensuring the liquid fully contacts the areas where larvae are active.
2.1600ITU/mg WP (Wettable Powder)
Due to its higher toxicity, the dosage should be appropriately reduced (usually 3-8 grams of active ingredient per hectare of water body, subject to product instructions). Similarly, first dissolve the powder in water and stir to make a uniform liquid. It is suitable for using large-capacity sprayers or splashing tools to apply the liquid to large-area water bodies such as park lakes, stagnant water in paddy fields, and water-logged areas around garbage transfer stations, so as to quickly reduce the pest population. After application, gently stir the water body to improve the dispersion of the insecticide.
3.600ITU/mg SC (Suspension Concentrate)
Shake the insecticide bottle thoroughly before use. Dilute it with water according to the ratio (e.g., add 5-10 milliliters of the insecticide to 1 liter of water, with specific ratios referring to product instructions) and stir evenly. For scenarios with low pest density (such as stagnant water in flowerpot saucers, moist areas around drain openings), use a small sprayer for spot spraying or apply a small amount by splashing. If applying to shallow water near fish farming areas, strictly control the dosage to avoid overapplication. The suspension concentrate formulation does not require worrying about sedimentation and can be applied directly and evenly.
Apply
1.1200ITU/mg WP (Wettable Powder)
It is suitable for small and medium-sized static or slow-flowing water bodies, including water-collecting basins, buckets, flowerpot saucers, shallow stagnant water in green belts, small landscape ponds in households and communities, as well as small pits, ponds and drainage ditches in the urban-rural fringe. It is used to control mosquito larvae and also works for small-scale fly larvae control.
2.1600ITU/mg WP (Wettable Powder)
It is mainly used in medium to large open water bodies and areas with high pest density, such as urban park lakes, stagnant water areas in paddy fields and aquatic crop fields, ditches and water storage tanks around garbage transfer stations, and landscape water bodies in industrial parks. It can quickly reduce the population of mosquito and fly larvae to meet the needs of large-area pest control.
3.600ITU/mg SC (Suspension Concentrate)
It is suitable for preventive control scenarios with low pest density and environmentally sensitive areas, including flowerpot saucers on home balconies, small indoor and outdoor water-collecting containers, moist areas around drain openings in residential areas, shallow water areas around fish farming ponds, and small water bodies around schools and kindergartens. While controlling pests, it reduces the impact on surrounding sensitive organisms and the environment.
Matters need attention
1.Preparation Before Application
①Before application, thoroughly remove weeds, fallen leaves, domestic garbage, and other debris from the target water bodies. This prevents debris from blocking the contact between the insecticide and larvae, or adsorbing the insecticide and reducing its efficacy.
②Carefully read the product label before application to confirm the insecticide's validity period, recommended dosage, and applicable scenarios. Using expired insecticides or applying them beyond the specified scope or at excessive doses is strictly prohibited.
③Do not randomly mix insecticides of different formulations (e.g., mixing wettable powder with suspension concentrate may cause sedimentation or efficacy conflicts). If it is necessary to use it with other insecticides, consult professional technicians first or conduct a small-scale compatibility test.
2.Requirements During Application
①Choose sunny weather with no wind or light wind for application. Avoid applying during rainy days or windy days (wind speed exceeding 3 m/s) to prevent the liquid from being washed away or drifting to non-target areas (such as vegetable fields or beekeeping areas).
②Take personal protective measures during operation: wear disposable gloves and masks to avoid the insecticide contacting the skin, mouth, and nose. If accidental contact occurs, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water and seek medical attention promptly if discomfort arises.
③When applying by spraying or splashing, ensure the liquid evenly covers the areas where larvae are active (such as the water surface or moist soil surface) to avoid missing spots or excessive local dosage. After application, gently stir the water body (for large water bodies) to help disperse the insecticide.
3.Environmental and Biological Protection
①It is strictly forbidden to apply the insecticide to sensitive water bodies such as drinking water sources (e.g., reservoirs, wells), fish nursery ponds, and shrimp/crab breeding ponds. If application is needed in shallow water near adult fish breeding areas, strictly control the dosage (refer to the product's safety instructions for aquatic organisms) to avoid adverse effects on fish and shrimp.
②Prevent the liquid from flowing into crop-growing areas such as farmlands, vegetable plots, and orchards after application to avoid phytotoxicity to crops. Meanwhile, keep it away from areas such as beehives and silkworm rooms to reduce impacts on beneficial insects.
③If rain occurs within 24 hours after application, determine whether to reapply based on the rainfall intensity (light rain does not require reapplication; moderate rain or heavier requires reapplication). When reapplying, halve the original recommended dosage to avoid excessive dosage due to repeated application.
4.Insecticide Storage and Waste Disposal
①Store the insecticide in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated place, away from children, pets, and daily necessities such as food and feed. Avoid direct sunlight or high-temperature environments (temperatures exceeding 30°C may reduce efficacy).
②Seal and store any remaining liquid; do not pour it randomly (e.g., into sewers or rivers). Collect empty insecticide bottles (bags) centrally and hand them over to professional institutions for recycling and disposal. Do not discard them randomly or reuse them (e.g., for holding water or food).
5.Other Supplementary Notes
①If the larval mortality rate does not meet expectations (less than 80%) within 72 hours after application, investigate the causes (such as ineffective insecticide, larval resistance, or uneven application). Do not blindly increase the dosage; instead, consult technicians to adjust the control plan.
②Long-term and single use of this insecticide may lead to larval resistance. It is recommended to alternate it with other larvicides with different mechanisms of action (such as insect growth regulators), with an interval of no less than 2 growth cycles (e.g., the reproduction cycle of mosquitoes) between each alternation.
