The Application of the Cyhalofop-butyl

The Cyhalofop-butyl primarily targets and controls grass weeds. It demonstrates high efficacy against weeds such as sprangletop and barnyardgrass, and also shows certain effectiveness against young barnyardgrass.

Additionally, the Cyhalofop-butyl can control other grass weeds including southern crabgrass, common crabgrass, green foxtail, goosegrass, and blackgrass. However, it is ineffective against sedges and broadleaf weeds. Special caution is required as Cyhalofop-butyl is highly toxic to aquatic arthropods; care must be taken to prevent it from entering aquaculture areas.

What grass can the cyhalofop-butyl control?

1. Cyhalofop-butyl primarily targets and controls grass weeds. It is highly effective against sprangletop and barnyardgrass, with certain efficacy against young barnyardgrass as well. Additionally, it can control other grass weeds such as southern crabgrass, crabgrass, green foxtail, goosegrass, and blackgrass. However, it is ineffective against sedges and broadleaf weeds. This herbicide is highly safe for rice crops and can be used on both indica and japonica rice varieties under various cultivation methods.

2. Cyhalofop-butyl is a systemic herbicide characterized by a relatively slow progression from absorption to weed death, typically taking 1 to 3 weeks. Symptoms in treated weeds include wilting and eventual death of young shoots at the four-leaf stage, while older leaves at the two-leaf stage show minimal changes and generally remain green.

Attentions when use the cyhalofop-butyl

1. Cyhalofop-butyl is not recommended for soil application (such as via toxic soil or toxic fertilizer methods).

2. Mixing Cyhalofop-butyl with certain broadleaf herbicides may result in antagonistic effects, leading to reduced efficacy of cycloxydim.

3. Before applying the herbicide, drain the field to expose the weeds. Reintroduce a shallow water layer 24-36 hours after application and maintain it for 5-7 days to enhance weed control efficacy.

4. Cyhalofop-butyl is highly toxic to aquatic arthropods; therefore, it must be prevented from entering aquaculture areas.
