Thiacloprid is an agonist at the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor. Consequently, there is no cross-resistance to insecticides from the pyrethroid, organophosphate or carbamate families and thus thaicloprid can be
recommended for inclusion in insect resistance mangement strategies. Although similar in structure to imidacloprid, thiacloprid is reported to bring significant advantanges.
Applicable for Apples, brassicas, camellias, cherries, citrus, cotton, cucumbers, loquats, maybushes, melons, nectarines, ornamentals, peaches, pears, peppers, plums, pome fruits, potatoes, raspberries, rice, roses, squash, stone fruits, strawberries, tomatoes, vegetable, vines.
Application
Thiacloprid has excellent control effects on important pests on pear fruits, cotton, vegetables, and potatoes. In addition to being effective against aphids and whiteflies, it is also effective against various beetles (such as potato beetles, apple weevils, rice weevils) and lepidopteran pests such as apple leafhoppers and apple moths, and is suitable for all corresponding crops. For pine brown longhorn beetles, poplar longhorn beetles, and various other longhorn beetles that are difficult to control with general insecticides, it has a rapid killing effect and can effectively cut off the main vector of pine wood nematodes, suppress the occurrence of pine wood nematode disease. After 2 hours of application, a large number of longhorn beetles begin to die, and the control effect can reach over 90% after 24 hours. At the same time as controlling the pine brown beetle, it can also have a control effect on the intersecting stages of pine caterpillars, poplar boat moths, pine scale insects, American white moths, and various types of foot moths. Japan used to be the country most severely affected by pine wilt disease. In recent years, Japan has promoted the use of thiacloprid to control pine longhorn beetles, and the control effect has been very ideal, which has effectively controlled pine wilt disease in Japan. The pine wilt rate has decreased to one in ten thousand.
